Days #1 - 4

The detox began for Bertha and I on Sunday. We've had a steady diet of lean protein (turkey, chicken, and game meat), lots of veggies, fresh fruit, a bit of oatmeal, natural peanut butter, brown rice, squash, tons of water, Bengal Spice tea (thanks Celestial Seasonings!), and fruit smoothies (for breakfast). We are both feeling great, sleep is AWESOME, and as far my energy level goes - it's up there! We've got three more days of eating right before the one day juice detox, and we will keep you updated on how the next few days go.

The Basics

We've had a lot of questions about the detox and some concern over difficulty with the 11 day process. Here's the scoop in a nutshell - this is just 10 days of eating right, nourishing your cells, and boosting your internal wellness, with a single day of drinking a special juice made of cranberry, lime, cinnamon, and nutmeg! It's that simple. There are no portion limits. This weekend is a great time to gather your grocery items and clean out the fridge/cupboard of any unwanted sugar-laden, preservative-filled goodness.

Detox Details

So, what does this detox actually look like?
7 Day Prequel + 1 Day Juice Fast + 3 Day Sequel = 11 Days of Cleansing the Body Naturally

So, why do we detox? We want to clean out the liver and the gut safely and efficiently so it runs better and can support a healthy, vibrant, perfectly designed body.

How do we do this? Seven days of eating liver-loving foods, colon-caring nutrients, consuming clean, filtered water and steering clear of the detox detractors. Followed by one day, without food, of just consuming juice. Finishing with three more glorious days of eating right and staying away from the nasty detox detractors! Still confused? New Year's Detox 2010

I have known, and still know, many people who have wanted to shed extra holiday pounds, exercise more consistently, boost energy, and partake in more restful sleep each new year that turns over. So, why don't these resolutions, ideas, and quick fixes stick for the new year? A busy schedule, lack of effort or determination, or perhaps to little motivation? I'm not certain what the reasons are, however what I am certain about is this - 2010 holds many new and exciting adventures, diverse challenges, and limitless possibilities for your health and wellness. So, to help jump start this new year, we (our office) will be starting an 11 day detox on January 18, 2010. This detox is based primarily on the work of Dr. Ann Louise Gittleman, Ph.D, CNS and we will be posting details from each of the eleven days beginning on Monday, January 18th. Please join us this year in discovering how your body was designed to move, think, feel and heal.
